Nurse practitioner schools are schools which admit practicing nurses to further their education in their line of profession. These schools are registered with the relevant bodies which are responsible for higher education in any country. Thus if you are a practicing nurse and you are probably interested in gaining entry into a nurse practitioner school then what you need to do first before you start sending your applications to the schools is to check with the relevant bodies to find schools which are registered with these bodies. This is because if you are not careful then you might find yourself wasting your time and money in an institution which is not recognized. Basically at the end of your stay in such a school you will get a certificate which is just a paper. This paper will never help you in any way as it lacks the recognition which is required.

Once you’ve decided to pursue a masters in education degree, you’ll need to choose a specialty to focus your studies on.

Each college will have their own set of masters programs and specialties available to students. Common specialties within most education programs include Educational Leadership and Policy, Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education and Educational Psychology.

Most graduate programs combine upper-level classes in the 400- to 500-level range with research, field work, papers and exams. Graduate students often have to complete a project at the end of the program in order to graduate, too. Your intructor may require you to prepare a thesis, take an exam or partner up with a classmate for a large project.

Not only are most graduate programs stimulating and interesting, but they can help to advance your career, too. Many employers in the education field require teachers to have a masters degree in order to secure a job.

I took a year off before completing my degree in public administration. After all, that’s a very serious degree and I had been working hard on it, I wanted to gad about and explore my dreams for a while first. I headed to Belgium, and hitchiked through Europe for quite a while. I saw a lot of interesting sites. I didn’t just hitch, I also used the Euro Rail, and that pass is as good as everyone says. Between hitchiking, Euro Rail, and youth hostels, it was all quite affordable and I had enough adventures to recount for a lifetime.

I ended up in Eastern Europe for a while, and traveled down the Danube. I adored Budapest, which I have learned to pronounce BUDA-PESHT, and I was able to visit some family heritage sites, as I am Hungarian on my father’s side. I also visited Prague before leaving the East for more Western European sightseeing.
